Alex Grossman’s career began as a copywriter in San Francisco. He moved to L.A. where he studied with the Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade as he continued his writing and directing career. Alex is one of few creatives to win Cannes Gold as both a writer and director. His campaign for Alliance Francaise was the most awarded comedy campaign in the world in 2018, and in 2019 he directed spots for Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich, a campaign AdAge named 2020’s top launch of the year.
Outside of advertising, his first feature film, Hickey, took best directing honors before moving to competition at SXSW. The campaign swept every major awards festival, making Alex the most awarded comedy director in the world for 2017/18. In addition to directing, he performs stand-up around the country, including gigs at The World Famous Comedy Store, Flappers, and Stand-Up NY.
